Consultation
from the GCRC core directors and staff, including genetic,
bioanalytical, bionutrition, biostatistical, informatics and patient
safety monitoring is encouraged prior to the submission of a research
project. They are available to consult on biostatistical issues
of sex/gender, inclusion of minorities and children, biostatistical
considerations as well as development of assays and database design.
Interested investigators should complete a GCRC project Application
Form. Questions about the form or the review process may be discussed
with the Administrative Director at 202-444-2793.
The
GCRC application form, proposed budget, study protocol and the completed
IRB application should be submitted to the GCRC administration office
at least two weeks prior to the Advisory Committee meeting
date.
Incomplete applications will be returned to the investigator. The
GCRC
Administrative and Advisory Committees will review the complete
application for
scientific merit and approval of GCRC resources.
The review process takes approximately two to four weeks. It is
recommended that an investigator apply for the study's use of the
GCRC at the same time the protocol is being reviewed by the IRB.
IRB
approval is required before the investigator may schedule an initiation
meeting with GCRC staff or schedule research subjects on the unit.
You may contact the GCRC administrative office at 202-444-0799 or
click here to download the Application Form.
